Clueless TV Show With Alicia Silverstone
Finally Gets a Great Update After Being Canceled
    ------------------------------------------------
Clueless fans can rejoice as Paramount+ has ordered a sequel
TV series to the 1995 rom-com. The series was previously in
the works at Peacock before the streamer dropped it earlier
    this year.

Paramount+ has announced that the Clueless sequel series will
pick up 30 years after the original film. Alicia Silverstone
will reprise the role of Cher Horowitz in the show.

In addition to starring in the series, Silverstone will also
serve as an executive producer. The untitled sequel will
start filming in Los Angeles in 2027. The original film was
distributed by Paramount Pictures, making the series' move
    to Paramount+ a fitting homecoming.

"Clueless is coming home," said Jane Wiseman, Head of
Originals for Paramount+. "Thirty-one years ago, Alicia
Silverstone's Cher Horowitz captivated audiences with her
signature chic style, sharp wit and relentless optimism,
helping make Clueless a box office hit and instant pop
culture classic. We're especially proud to be filming this
much-anticipated series in Los Angeles, honoring its starring
role in the original film while investing in the city's
    exceptional talent and crews."

Clueless series will follow Cher as she navigates motherhood
The new show will see Cher struggling to navigate motherhood as
her daughter enters her teens in high school. Amy Heckerling,
the director of the original film, will join Silverstone as an
executive producer. The Clueless sequel series is being written
and executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage,
who are joined by Jordan Weiss. Robert Lawrence, who produced
the original movie, is also coming back as an executive
    producer.

CBS Studios is producing the show. According to Variety, it is
being developed as a miniseries with six episodes. Neither
Paramount nor CBS has confirmed the same. This won't be the
first time that Clueless has made its way to TV. Following the
film's success, a Clueless TV series debuted on ABC in 1996
before moving to UPN, where it concluded after three seasons.

One of the early pitches centered on a series following Dionne
Davenport, originally played by Stacey Dash. That version of
the show ultimately did not get made. The film recently
celebrated its 30th anniversary with a 35mm screening at the
Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, where the original cast
reunited. It was subsequently added to the United States
National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

The new Clueless series will premiere exclusively on Paramount+,
though a release date has not yet been announced.
