What did you watch?

I somehow found myself watching Nation's Dumbest, a ridiculous
game/reality show which has set a goal of identifying the USA's
stupidest celebrity. The contestants are asked easy questions and set
easy challenges, earning a star (max three) if they solve it and losing
a star (min zero) if they can't. In each episode, one contestant
graduates and goes home, thereby no longer in the running for the title
of Nation's Dumbest. Most of the contestants can in fact answer easy questions, but the show spends a lot of time on each failure.

There was one influencer, Mark something, who did seem genuinely stupid
to me. He got obvious things wrong to the point where some of the other contestants started giving him hints. It didn't help. When the last
puzzle baffled him, the host took pity and told him that his hair looked great. He smiled and thanked the host, looking genuinely pleased. I'm
glad he made it as an influencer, because he doesn't seem well-qualified
for other jobs.

Jojo Siwa, the Zoomer singer/dancer, came off as sharp. She said a
number of borderline-ditzy things, thereby getting lots of screen time,
and solved the problems with time to spare.

I wasn't sure why I was watching, but I figured it out partway into the
second episode. It's because most of these people are narcissists, and
it's interesting (in a sad way) to see them sucking at something with,
in most cases, absolutely no idea that they suck. None of those who
performed poorly seemed properly embarrassed. They were all asked the
nickname of the award given by the American Academy of Motion Pictures,
and most got it, but one put "woman" (?) and another put "gold guys."
Most of them were entertainers; how did they not know that? There was
also some clown who was asked the main ingredient of tofu, wrote
"curd," and had a huge wobbly because this was not accepted.

The main appeal of such shows is to allow the viewer to feel superior. I
guess it kind of works.

Just finishing up on my rewatch of Season 1 of SUPERNATURAL.
I'm a bit surprised at Meg as I recall her being a more engaging
character. Maybe it's because I'm remembering her from later seasons.

Other than that all I managed to watch was various bits on Youtube.

I have several seasons of Supernatrual on disc. But I'm doubtful I'll
ever set aside the time for a rewatch. I think I only have the first
few seasons. Even if I wanted to do a rewatch I wouldn't be able to
finish. It's just not worth the hassle.


I watched:

The Vampire Lestat (AKA Interview With the Vampire) - This was the
season finale. I was completely lost for most of it. Apparently at the
end of the previously episode both Lestat and Louis jrer qrpncvgngrq. Apparently this was the final shot of the penultimate episode, and I
must have missed it. This episode focused on the adventures of their
frirerq urnqf. I watched this episode not knowing what in the world was
going on. In particular one of the plot threads had Armand insisting
Louis make amends, and I don't know what exactly Louis was supposed to
be making amends for. Anyway, this was a mean spirited body horror
finale. Next season they are doing yet another name change and it will
be called, "Queen of the Damned." Hopefully my DVR once again catches
the name change and records it.

I got hooked into it due to some Youtube shorts from the show. That
said I understand what you are saying and will likely start skipping
episodes or change the speed for much of the viewing. What I really
need to do is get back to season 13. That's when I stopped watching
when they added the kid. It felt like a jump the shark moment. Same
thing I ended up doing with BURN NOTICE when they added Jesse.
