AMC Renews Popular TV Show With Huge True Blood Star,
Release Date Window Set

Acorn TV's hit crime drama Art Detectives is officially returning for
a new season. The 2025 mystery show has become one of the streamer's
biggest success stories. It quickly garnered audience attention with
its unique blend of murder investigations, priceless artwork, and
historical treasures. Meanwhile, production on the new season is
already underway in Belfast and across Northern Ireland.

The new season follows an impressive first season. At the time of its
debut, Art Detectives became Acorn TV's most-watched new series
premiere ever. The series stars True Blood's Stephen Moyer and Nina
Singh in the lead, offering a fresh take on the crime genre.

Apart from announcing its renewal, Acorn TV also revealed the
timeline for when viewers can expect the show's return. Art Detectives
Season 2 will premiere with a two-part special in December 2026. It
will then continue with a full six-episode season in 2027.

What awaits Stephen Moyer and Nina Singh in Art Detectives season 2?
Art Detectives is set in a world filled with valuable paintings, rare
antiques, and stolen collectibles. It follows a crime investigation
unit, the Heritage Crime Unit, as they solve murders tied to the art
world. Season 2 will bring back the iconic duo, DI Mick Palmer and
DC Shazia Malik, to investigate new crimes, stolen artifacts, and
more.

Moyer reprises his role as DI Mick Palmer alongside Singh as DC Shazia
Malik, and Larry Lamb as Ron Palmer. Declan Recks and Jennie Paddon
direct the series while Moyer executive produces it among others.

Moyer on his return to the show said, "Great art, rare antiques,
expensive collections and a battered satchel - what's not to love
about Mick Palmer? I'm really looking forward to filming these eight
new episodes and reuniting with the brilliant Nina Singh. This new
season is packed with drama, excitement, tension and surprises."

At the time of writing, the first season holds an 89% critics' score
on Rotten Tomatoes. With production already underway, fans won't have
to wait long to see Palmer and Malik back in action.
