DC Studios has released a brand-new trailer for Lanterns at San Diego
Comic-Con. With Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler in lead roles, the
trailer for the DCU's upcoming TV show teases a fresh look at Green
Lantern mythology ahead of its HBO Max debut.

The synopsis of the show reads, "Lanterns follows new recruit John
Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler),
two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they
investigate a murder in the American heartland."

What do we see in the new Lanterns trailer?
The trailer follows the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic
peacekeeping force whose members wear powerful rings that grant
extraordinary abilities. The story centers on legendary Green Lantern
Hal Jordan and recruit John Stewart as they investigate a murder in
Rushville, Nebraska. As the investigation unfolds, the two Green
Lanterns unravel dark secrets connected to a much larger mystery.

The trailer also highlights the detective-style approach of both
characters as they work together to solve the case. It also explores
their developing partnership while showcasing the cosmic elements of
the Green Lantern Corps. The newly released trailer gives the audience

Lanterns stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John
Stewart in lead roles alongside Kelly Macdonald as Kerry and Nathan
Fillion as Guy Gardner. The cast also includes Garret Dillahunt,
Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Nicole Ari Parker, Sherman

Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King created the series, and they also

Lanterns is set to debut on HBO Max on August 16, 2026, with its first
season running for eight episodes through October 4, 2026. The series
marks part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the opening chapter of
