Steve Shives analyzes the Star Trek: The Original Series backdoor
pilot, Assignment: Earth. This episode follows the Enterprise crew as
they travel to 1968 and encounter a mysterious human agent working to
prevent a global catastrophe, offering a unique look at a proposed
    spin-off that never materialized.

I would have watched that spinoff, but this host is annoying. What's
with all the pointless crudity? It's distracting.

I never noticed his crudity, just his leftist commentary, like
    "Star trek was always woke".

Um, no, it most certainly was not!

Several people in the comments are noting similarities between
    Assignment: Earth and Doctor Who.

It nver occurred to me before now.
