Star Wars: The Mandalorian Is Getting an All-New Disney+ Special,
Release Date Set

Star Wars: The Mandalorian will get a new Disney+ Special and lock
an official release date. The surprising update comes nearly two
months after The Mandalorian and Grogu's theatrical debut.

What is the new Star Wars: The Mandalorian Disney+ special?
Star Wars' official X account has confirmed that there's a
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, "an all-new special", coming soon
to Disney+.

The post read, "Two unlikely heroes click together." LEGO Star Wars:
The Mandalorian Special will arrive on Disney+ on September 2, 2026.
More details are expected to surface before the release. At first
glance, the special mostly focuses on Grogu's dynamics with Din
Djarin, aka The Mandalorian, and their adventures together.

The latest news was revealed immediately after The Mandalorian and
Grogu's digital and physical debut announcement. The movie will
arrive on digital platforms on July 21, 2026. It'll later be
released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on August 25, 2026.

Those who missed watching the film in IMAX will be able to watch it
in the IMAX-expanded aspect ratio from the comfort of their homes.
Both the digital and physical versions will feature a dynamic aspect
ratio that'll switch between 2.39:1 and 1.78:1.

The Mandalorian and Grogu was a hit and miss with most of the
critics. However, fans loved it, as evidenced by its amazing 87%
Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, the movie still couldn't make a strong box office impact.
Made on a $165 million budget, The Mandalorian and Grogu earned just
over $340 million across the globe. The movie was helmed by Jon
Favreau, who wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Dave Filoni
and Noah Kloor.

The main cast of the film featured Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver,
and Jeremy Allen White, among others.
