Live-action versions of animated shows almost never work ... plus we've already seen the "origin" in the animated movie "Scoob!". :-(

Netflix's Scooby-Doo: Origins Is Already Facing Fan Backlash
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Netflix has finally unveiled its live-action iteration of Scooby-Doo,
showing how the dog will look in the upcoming Origins series. However,
fans have not warmly received its look, making their feelings clear on
    social media.

Fans aren't liking Scooby-Doo's first look
Netflix recently dropped a new teaser for Scooby-Doo: Origins, showing
off its version of the iconic character. The short footage, initially
shown from a first-person POV, shows Scooby running and sniffing in
the woods before spotting Shaggy Rogers, who picks him up and smiles
while the dog affectionately licks him in the face.

This is why some things don't need to be Live Action

However, not everyone despised the look, as some have shown their
support. "Finally! Movie studios are using real animals instead of CGI.
    He's perfect," a user wrote.

Meanwhile, another opined that "after years of CGI nightmares," the
look was "surprisingly faithful." However, they hoped that the writing
    and visual quality would match.

Scooby-Doo: Origins will be released in 2027. An origin story
chronicling the formation of the Mystery Inc. group, it will revolve
around Shaggy and his old friend Daphne Blake during their final summer
at camp. The pair comes across a lost Great Dane puppy that has likely
witnessed a supernatural murder, leading to the three solving a
haunting mystery with the scientific yet pragmatic Velma Dinkley and
the mysterious but handsome Fred Jones.

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as executive producers of the
series, alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London
Redman. Other members of the executive-producing team include Andre
Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Toby Haynes, and Adrienne Erickson. In addition,
Haynes will direct the premiere episode.

Tanner Hagen, Mckenna Grace, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Maxwell Jenkins
star as Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred, respectively. Paul Walter
Hauser has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
