definitely better prices. For example, here in Hamilton, you can
currently get 2?2-litre bottles of milk for $7.50 or less from New
Save or elsewhere, whereas the supermarket price might be a dollar

Not necessarily. The vendors at the Farmers market routinely price
their products below those of the duopoly - because they are selling
direct. The Butcher says he has the similar supply options as the
local duopoly outlets.
There are always products that are more expensive than at the duopoly
but usually there are good reasons for this and consumers can choose
cheap or quality.
