With the oil situation having settled in it is rather interesting watching
the developments. The main stream media are pushing doom and gloom, and
there seems to be total desire for some to get onto step 4 of the plan.

Mean while National planned and shown us in a transparent way. The likeness
to Covid reaction of the last Government is noted. It is rather comforting
to know that the Government is do the right thing. Dare I say it, leadership
is being shown, not all are being brought along.

Then we have the Lake Onslow, this needs some time to examine.

Finally the Government has said that it will anounce some help to the care workers who are affected by the cost of petrol. A "right wing" government thinking about the no so "sorted" who provide an important service.

Yes, these folks have been paid much less thatnthe AA and NZTA suggestions for travel reimpursement. They should be paid an approximation of average cost.

I disagree in that the current Government has been a disappointment.
They have not addressed the fact that the civil service is bloated by
those employed as 'communication specialists' and other similarly
examples of employment boat. We would rather have more doctors,
teachers, Police etc. Government still spends more than it earns, and
hoping that increased company profitability will generate increased
tax receipts is proving that this is too gradual to get Government
    revenues up at speed.

National is truly following the trajectory of a 'Labour light" or
    fiddle-at-the edges party.

That is because the current Government cannot be described as 'right
    wing'.

Our clown prime minister announced when the attack on Iran commenced
"that Iran cannot ever have a nuclear programme".
That he gets to decide what Iran can or cannot do is ridiculous
    overreach.
HOWEVER, since he thinks he can decide what Iran does, NZers should
be willing shoulder any problems arising out of his declaration.
    Just suck it up OK!

Doesn't matter where they sit on the political spectrum they are
gonners. Now we're likely to get a coalition nutjobs in government
that are just as clueless, fractious, and useless. Guess we deserve
that for electing morons. Just like the US, we don't get capable
    people to chose from.

I guess you don't mind the mad leaders in Iran having Nuke weapons
. This is the same lot who for the past 30 years have been shouting
"Death to America , death to Isreal" If these guys get nukes you
can bet they will use them "in the name of Alah"

I have no problem with Iran's nuclear program, and the leaders are not
mad. Iran has repeatedly said the program is for civilian purposes
only. They allowed IPCA inspections for compliance, until the nutjobs
in west, started by Israel, started propaganda lies, and imposed
    sanctions.
The Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a Fatwa banning Iran nuke weapons.
He is now dead, along with his Fatwa.
The new leader lost his father, sister, wife and son the the perfidious assignation. He may have a different view on the possession of Nukes.
Typical own goal from the clowns in the International rules based
    order.

America and Israel have lost this war. Mad Trump is screwed so badly
that he, or Mad Bibi, may escalate to use of nukes.
Maybe Regime change in middle east may occur. UAE will disappear,
divvied up by Iran and Oman. Bahrain & Qatar? Taken by Iran/Oman,
or returned to desert? Kuwait will return to Iraq, where it belongs.

Meanwhile, a bunch of irrelevant dick-wit governments have demanded
    Iran open Hormuz. NZ included.

    https://abc3340.com/news/nation-world/list-uk-gathers-40-countries-to-reopen-strait-of-hormuz-president-donald-trump-iran-war-middle-east-conflict-oil-shipping-persian-gulf-israel-keir-starmer-emmanuel-macron-missiles-sea-mines-ships

They will be ignored. What are they going to do? Cry at the UN?
Use their military to open Hormuz as Trump has told them to?
America's military cannot do it, that's why Trump as passed the
    parcel. Pass more sanctions?
The answer is course they are useless and incompetent. All they
can do is watch their economies crash and bleat that it's Iran
    fault.

Enjoy your Easter holiday. Apocalypse awaits.
