If you want to rip the audio to files, "abcde" is a terminal-based
front-end that does this. It will be dependent on someone already

    Asunder is similar, but GUI.

You want lame, a WAVE => MP3 converter which will also embed the ID3 tags.

I think cdda2wav might be able to pull metadata from the CD along with the WAVE track.

    Also:

    marchhare% apt-file search cddb | grep '/usr/bin'
    abcde: /usr/bin/cddb-tool
    cdrdao: /usr/bin/toc2cddb
    cdtool: /usr/bin/cdtool2cddb
    libcddb-get-perl: /usr/bin/cddbget

As a guess abcde and libcddb-get-perl look promising...

Back in the day I used to run Itunes on a Win2K system that would
download the titles, etc on a CD loaded so that I didn't have to type
the titles from the CD label to get those titles onto the saved music
    in my harddrive.
Is there an app available for Deian that will do the same task?
    Thanks,
