  • libreboot on MacPro 2013

    hi,
    i would like know if libreboot work on MacPro 2013

    if is not, how can i try it ?

    MacOS isn't for me and i would like use think MacPro as server.

    libreboot won't work.

    However, Debian should run on this machine, booting via UEFI and
    the package "refind".

    I have no idea. I use Grub2 on my 2007 and 2012 iMacs. Why libreboot?

    This is a Debian mailing list. Libreboot is not part of Debian and is "unrelated" to Debian (except for some correlation in terms of
    mindshare, of course): you can use Debian with or without Libreboot, and
    you can use Libreboot with or without Debian.

    If what you're really after is to run Libreboot on your Mac, then the
    answer is that you don't need Libreboot for that. Otherwise, you might
    be better served by asking on a Libreboot mailing-list.

    Chiming in as a libreboot user.

    No, the Mac Pro 2013 is 1) Not on the list of supported hardware[1]
    and 2) Seems sufficiently different from anything else that porting
    will likely require a lot of skill and time.

    To make it a little on-topic: The libreboot build system works like a
    charm on debian, and it's very easy to build your own roms to flash if
    you happen to find a machine that is compatible.
