What exactly is vulnerable? Which system?
    Here is nothing to update.

    This is unspecific nonsense.

    I just went for 26.6.2 (25G83)

    names
    +++
The update also resolves 18 vulnerabilities in Kernel that could be
exploited to corrupt kernel memory, crash the system, disclose kernel
memory, bypass network filters, write kernel memory, leak sensitive
kernel state, and access sensitive user data.

The screen sharing problem may not be relevant here.

    The solution is:

Settings - General - Softwareupdate - Automatic Updates
    There all sliders to green.

    Fire and forget!

Auto Update did not offer that version - yet.

Since I had been warned by friends about the current vulnerability, I
had started the update manually, although I had updated recently to
    26.6.2 with the automatic update.

The updates are identical but it can take a couple of days to be
executed. I have done it manually as well on our Macs.
