    A: About 2-1/2 years

    1. The iPhone 2G first shipped for retail sale on June 29, 2007.

    July 11, 2007.

    2. The last pre-iOS-4 release was iPhone OS 3.1.3 on February 2, 2010.

But it ran iOS 4 up to 4.2.1 which was released on November 22, 2010,
and which the latest release of iOS 4 up until March 4, 2011, when iOS
    4.3 was released.

    3. 949 days / 365 days in a year = 2.60 years for full iOS support.

There was no iPhone 2G, you simpleton.

The first model the original iPhone was the iPhone 3G.

And that would be 1332 days, or 3.6 years of full support.
