A week and a half ago I played:
Moonlighter ***
It's a roguelike top down real time dungeon crawler rpg, and store
simulator. It reminds me a lot of Cult of the Lamb for the dungeon
crawl portion of the game, but it's much more generic, and not as
interesting, and it has the store simulator instead of the cult action
(which was also more interesting.)
The store simulator doesn't really take much time, at least not much
more than the inventory management normally involved in a dungeon
crawler. It never got onerous. You put prices on things and npcs come
in to buy the extras of what you got in the dungeon. You have to figure
out what to sell stuff for, if the NPCs give you a sourpus then you made
it too high, and if they have gold in their eyes "great deal" then you
sold it for too little. They come in quickly enough starting high and
about halving your price each time they give you a sourpus will get you
close enough withough losing out on much. You can quickly change the
price, and the next npc will come along quickly.
I was a bit disappointed that weapons and armor were very rare to get in
the dungeon and were not worth much for selling, and crafting them
wasn't worth doing (except for yourself) as the parts sold for much more
than the end product.
It's a short game, maybe 25 hours. It did have NG+ but it isn't
interesting enough to play NG+. It's an ok game, but I'd recommend Cult
of the Lamb as a similar but much better game over this any day.
