Decided it was just too silly for me. The reviewers are calling it >"Dad-Space", a take off of DeadSpace which I liked and should go back
to one of them, maybe the 1st if the graphics aren't too dated like
Skyrim turned out to be. Uninstalled that. Was my favorite game for a
while back in the day.

Yeah, Capcom has been getting rave-reviews for "Pragmata" but I can't
imagine playing it myself. The kid is creepy, and generally I don't
enjoy the mechanics of their games anyway (case in point, the
aforementioned reliance on save points). Plus, I'm not that fond of
Capcom as a company anyway; a lot of their choices are user-hostile.
So I was unlikely to ever buy or play "Pragmata". Still, your review
confirms I've made the right choice.

Any way, the graphics are not that impressive. I had it maxed out.
From what I saw, the only thing on the impressive side was the little annoying androids eyes and hair. I couldn't put up with that
character any more, especially her backpacking on the main character.
Weird. So may reviewers loved the relationship. I thought it was
weird and sort of sick during the time I played it (thankfully not
enough to not get this 5/5 maybe GOTY refunded - accoring to the
reviews). I think some of these people have some problems and a huge
gap in their lives.

Hmm. I had only read good things about this, but not enough to even >recognize the game name. Just punching in the game name it seems
there's a lot of controversy. A quote from one of the comments "She
looks like eye candy for the creeps"
She does look a bit creepy in the way young beauty pageant dolled up
girls do at a glance.
On the other hand there's also a story about positive comments on it
being deleted. *shrug* A lot of people are praising the
father-daughter relationship 'done well' which is all I read before your >post.
It's wild it's got such a high rating on Steam of 96%. Looks like maybe >there's some fuckery going on there, perhaps their algorithm deleting >anything about it being creepy.

I might have not refunded it if there weren't stupid mini-games
involved for every combat situation, the graphics were better, and
that android wasn't so creepy :-) I don't know how many hours I had
left to play it before Steam would have disallowed the refund.
I doubt the other usuals here in this newsgroup would buy and play it, besides me who always gets suckered into the latest and greatest new
titles lol I would be interested in a review here. MetaCritics
reviews are all overwhelming so maybe I am too critical. A lot of
people like the combat system and got used to it, but I couldn't.

Yeah, the kid was creepy like you said, and a nag at such a young age
(like they are in real life for the most part :-)), from the couple of
hours or so that I played it.
And of course, she had to be a blue-eyed, bleached blonde. Not a
brunette with brown eyes. At least she wasn't Asian or Japanese.

It's only 2 hours total 'in game.' Which really isn't long enough for
most full standard price games, better to refund asap if you think you >aren't going to like it. It's enough to see something is a school
project, asset flip, AI slop, so buggy or controls so bad it's
unplayable and that's about it.

One of the negative reviews I read said game play gets boring fast or >something to that effect. It's got enough interest I might eventually
buy and play it, as I like the idea of a good father-daughter game, but
is it actually good? I don't care for quick time event combat, and even >less for puzzles which it sounds like this combines. I'm patient too,
I'll happily wait until it's deeply discounted, or given away free since >it's not of enough interest to buy it right away especially given the >controversy.

Watching a letsplay of it, I honestly find the whole trope of "AI acts
like little kid but is actually really powerful" a bit annoying. The kid
is cute, though.
