I've been working on my daughters old RPC for her son, my grandson.
Setting up various things for him and I have realised there is no sound
out.
I "upgraded" to RO6 then reverted back to 4.39 because it didn't like some files, complaining they were no longer supported.
I have checked the "configure" setting and they look ok but I can't even
hear the start-up bleep. I am sure there was sound before I upgraded.
Any clues anyone?
Do you have it configured for 8 bit sound when it has 16, or vice versa?
Mk1 motherboards have 8 bit sound, mk2 have 16 bit. There was also a
third party addon to upgrade to 16 bit, that would be a board towards
the rear of the motherboard near the power supply.
Try flipping the 8/16 setting to the opposite and see if it helps. It
won't damage anything by trying it.

*Status says (From memory) 8 bit sound.

So that would be something like *configure 16 bit sound" ?
I'm away from early Tomorrow till late Friday afternoon so won't be able
to try anything till next Saturday.
that says there's a '16 bit' option in the sound section of !Configure.
