Good ideal. That would be ironic, but I guess I will do it. I do use
ASI a lot more recently, and though I take it wth a big grain of salt,
one can often tell if it's worked or not.

I think it can be adjusted. In mine, the power button displays a quick >>>menu with 4 options: emergency, lock, power down, reboot.

Do you have a Motorola? Pressing my power button alone does almost
nothing when the screen is on and only brings up the lock screen when
the screen is off. The user guide says Powr and Vol up and that does
bring up Emergency, Off, or Restart. -- The previou sphone had 4
choices and I can't remember what the 4th one was.

So it works as intended but takes two hands this way. Good thing I'm
not riding a bicycle when i do this.

Mine just vibrates with long press on power. But I guess that's because
I disabled GenAI stuff and got rid of the "Google Assistant".

But check this:

Settings->Gestures->"Press & hold power button"

That did it. I didn't even think of looking in seetings. Yes, I have to
check out all the settings, icluding those for each app I have not used
before (and those I have used because I don't think my settings got
imported from the previous phone.)

Sadly it only offers two options (wouldn't it be better to offer more?)

Mine offers 3, Digital assistant, Power menu (those 3 choices), and No
action. So that's not much better than your two. Who would choose No
Action.

I saw a number some place. If I see it again, I'll write down where I
saw it. Okay, this was easy. Settings .... Apps... See all 324 apps.
I guess it will show a list so I will go through and try to find the 100
new ones. I'll get back to you in a day or two.
