• Gmail permissions window on Thunderbird

From Adrian@3:633/10 to All on Friday, April 03, 2026 23:43:51
An elderly relative has been in touch about a problem with Thunderbird.
A permissions window for Gmail has appeared, but it is always bigger
than the screen, but there appears to be no way of reaching any buttons
to accept/deny. It seems to be preventing Thunderbird from accessing
    Gmail.

    n-GB

Sounds very much like the problem, but appears to have been closed
    without any obvious resolution.

Thunderbird is running on W11 and is the latest version - 140.9.0

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem ?

    Thanks

    Adrian

Use the keyboard to move the window around until either an edge can be
found (to then resize with mouse) or until some accept/close/etc.
    button can be found.

Instructions on moving a window with the keyboard part way down on this
    page here:

The usual default shortcut for dragging windows around by any visible
    part is alt-left-button, isn?t it?

    ALT-F7, unless MS changed it

Alternatively, Alt-F3 brings up a ?More Actions? menu, from which you
can select operations to perform (e.g. move, resize) entirely from the keyboard.

Thanks for the various suggestions (more appreciated).

I think this is going to need a "site visit" to sort out, which will a
    couple of weeks yet.
