• install Linux in old hard drive "mecanic"

    sometime u have a old hard drive, and may be a old pc, pc portable !

    so u would like try linux without risk to break windows !!! so u
    have a second disk ! :)

    but, u think this one is breaked, down, don't boot ! may be u
    find it in a enclosure hard drive for save vid‚o from the TV
    beacouse a TV can do that whitout a google TV...

    but, this hard drive don't ! what append ? yes some card control
    for hard drive don't boot ! the hard drive is just for save files !

    but, if clean well this hard drive, linux live have the tool to do
    it...and u do the partitions to install linux...what we need ?

    put grub in the MBR this time ! in the console :

    sudo grub-install /dev/sda

    sda is your king, next hard drive to boot, linux is installed
    in this hard drive ! do becarefull, see the id partition, it should
    be sda !

    usualy the install process find all os and 'll build the good grub.cfg
    file.

    One of the rules of installation, is only the hard drive you
    are installing upon, should be inside the computer while installing.

    That's how you "protect" the other hard drive from the side effects
    of installation.

    what side effects ?

    u can have grub in MBR and / or in uefi part...it the same grub.cfg

    to day everytime they are secure everywhere ! what for ? a uuid for
    the part ? what for ? a secure boot ? what for ? etc...

    u want install...i think is better if u understand the sequence boot !
    legacy and uefi...but i know is not easy for the peoples ! a PC is 500$
    a tech guy is 300$ so...

    what is the real dd command to erase grub in mbr if the sequence is uefi ?

    and, why not understand what u have in /boot/grub or /boot/efi when u
    mount the uefi part in root !?#
