    I just now completed me weekly backups. Before actually running Acronis
    2015 (my backup application), I clean up my discs. As described on my <http://www.rossde.com/computer/computer_backup.html> Web page, I do the following:
    I delete temporary and cache files, compress SQLite databases,
    compact Thunderbird mail folders, and offload onto a flash drive any
    software installer files that I have accumulated.
    Today, I thus recovered over 50 Gb.
